약력

Tomonori Sudo is Associate Professor of Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University. He is currently conducting several researches on development economics and policy, environmental economics and policy, and climate change issues including climate change finance. He is also serving as Visiting Research Fellow of JICA Research Institute and Korea Environment Institute (KEI). Prior to joining Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, he worked for Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) as Senior Research Fellow of JICA Research Institute and Advisor of Office for Global Issues and Development Partnership, Operations Strategy Department and participated in the numbers of international conferences and discussions on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Finance for Development, and climate change. Until the end of 2015, he served as a member of Bureau of “Environment and Development Cooperation Network” (ENVIRONET) of the OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC) and led donor coordination and policy formation in environment and development. During his 20 years carrier at JICA and former Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and Overseas Economic Cooperation Fund (OECF), he was responsible for ODA loan operations provided for Indonesia, Malaysia, Bangladesh and China. He also worked for the African Development Bank as Private Sector Specialist to promote private sector development in Africa, and the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) to conduct several researches on climate policy and capacity building on Clean Development Mechanism in several Asian countries. Before joining OECF, he worked for the Sakura Bank and experienced in cooperate finance, project finance and forex operations. Dr. Sudo received his Ph.D. in International Studies from Waseda University, Japan, B.A. in Economics from Osaka University, Japan, and M.Sc in Environmental & Resource Economics from University of London (University College London).
