Ben KATOKA is an Assistant Professor in the Department of International and Area Studies at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, in South Korea. His main teaching subjects include conflicts and economic development in Africa, issues in African economic development, and Africa and Non-governmental Organizations.
Ben Katoka obtained his MA in Public Administration and Ph.D. in Public Policy from Seoul National University. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Kinshasa, where he is also a cooperation researcher at the Centre of Korean Studies. He previously served as a Research Professor in the Institute of Euro-African Studies at Hanyang University in Seoul, South Korea.
Ben Katoka’s current research concentrates on aid, state-building, and economic development in African fragile states.
