약력
대구대학교 미디어커뮤니케이션학과 교수로 재직 중이다. 연세대학교 신문방송학과를 졸업하고 동부증권에서 근무했다. 미국 조지아대학에서 언론학 및 정치학 석사를, 펜실베니아주립대에서 박사를 마쳤다. 연세대학교 박사후 연구원과 한국언론진흥재단 연구위원을 거쳤다. 한국언론학회, 한국언론정보학회 및 한국커뮤니케이션학회 총무이사 및 연구이사 등을 맡았다. 저술 작업으로 『지식패권』 (출간 예정) 『세계는 울퉁불퉁하다』, 『저널리즘의 복원』, 『국가의 품격과 저널리즘외교』, 『언론학 교육의 혁신모델』 『방송저널리즘의 혁신』 등이 있다. 최근 논문으로는 “공공의 적, 북한은 섬멸되어야 한다!”“언론은 언론다워야 한다” “관습적 오류 혹은 의도적 프로파간다” “언론학자와 권력” “퇴행성 국가의 해바라기 지식인” “디지털혁명과 전공학문의 진화: 뉴스학의 가능성에 대한 탐색연구”, “제도화된 권력투쟁과 호명된 담론”,“언론의 정파성과 국가이익”, “대외정책의 변화와 집단정체성 담론” 등이 있다.
Dr. Sunghae Kim is an associate professor at Daegu University. Previously, he worked for the Korea Press Foundation as a senior research fellow. His PhD dissertation “Educating public opinion: Understanding U.S. dollar hegemony in the age of global news media” was approved by Pennsylvania State University in 2005. As a specialist in the areas of international political economy, financial journalism and media diplomacy, he has published dozens of books and peer-reviewed research articles, including “Fallacy of group thinking or distortion with intention: Case study about China discourse mediated by Korean news media” (2016), "Crippled intellectuals and the retreat of nation: Price of intellectual hegemony penetrated by the U.S. educated Korean scholars" (2016), and "For whom the bell tolls: Understanding Korea’s intellectual dependency upon U.S. hegemony in term of ‘China Bashing’ discourse” (2016).
