약력
Professor Chong-Ae Yu teaches in the Department of History at Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul. Her main research interests include the political economy of agro-food systems, and international development.
Prof. Chong-Ae Yu is also a practitioner/specialist in international development and conflict resolution programs with over twenty years of experience in working with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the U.S. in over 20 countries. Her areas of expertise include humanitarian relief, economic and social development, and peace building in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Prior to her academic career, Prof. Yu worked as a coordinator for The Carter Center’s North Korea Food Security Project, and aagricultural coordinator for a U.S. Private Voluntary Organizations (PVO) Consortium to manage the first US-DPRK bilateral Food Assistance Program from 1998-2001. In the 1990s, Prof. Yu worked to establish an international affairs program focused on North Korea for the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC), and worked on projects involving the issues of DPRK nuclear non-proliferation as a consultant to the Rockefeller Foundation and the W. Alton Jones Foundation. Prof. Yu received PhD in Development Sociology from Cornell University in the U.S.
유정애 교수는 성균관대학교 사학과 교수이다. 유 교수는 미국의 카터센터 (The Carter Center), 록펠러 재단 (Rockefeller Foundation), 미국친우봉사회 (American Friends Service Committee) 및 Grassroots International 등에서 근무하며 20년간 아시아, 아프리카, 중동 및 중남미 20여 개 국에서 국제 개발 및 화해조정 관련 활동을 했다. 특히 1998년부터 2001년까지 카터센터에서 북한식량안보 프로그램 코디네이터로 Private Voluntary Organization (NGO) 컨소시움에서 첫 대북 양자간 협력 프로젝트를 진전시켰다. 유정애 교수는 미국 코넬대학교에서 발전사회학 박사학위를 취득하였으며 연구분야는 세계 식량체제, 국제개발협력, 공공/민간외교, 발전사회사 등이다.
