Prof. Gong Ke, born in June, 1955 is the President of Nankai University. After obtaining his Doctorate Degree of Technical Science from Technical University Graz (Austria) in 1986, Dr. Gong returned to China and has been engaged in electronics and wireless communication research and education for years. Since 1999, he has served as the Vice President of Tsinghua University, President of Tianjin University, and he is now the President of Nankai University. Meanwhile, he also holds the positions as the member of the Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) of Secretary-General of the United Nations, the Vice President of World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO) and the Chair of its Committee on Information and Communication（CIC）, the member of standing committee of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), and as the Vice Chairman of China Association of Higher Education (CAHE). He has had many years of practical experience and studies in higher education development, especially in carrying on quality education, deepening teaching reforms, improving university governance, promoting scientific innovation, and enhancing international cooperation.
