After World War II, countries have contrived to institutionalize multilateral cooperation, which has successfully led to globalization and economic prosperity. However, multilateralism has been gradually declining due to protectionism and unilateralism demonstrated by some countries. Recently, the pandemic has been further undermining the spirit of multilateral cooperation. The global challenges we face today require collaborative efforts among countries to solve. This is a reason why we need to promote global cooperation and solidarity based on multilateralism.
In this session, world leaders will discuss ways for the international community to reinvent multilateral cooperation in the age of the pandemic in order to establish peace and prosperity.
