미·중 공급망 경쟁과 동아시아의 선택: 기회와 도전

Under the Biden administration, the US-China competition in the global supply chain is accelerating. From areas ranging from batteries, semiconductors to electric vehicles, blatant attempts to formulate specific policies that would lead to rebuilding supply chains beneficial for their own national interests are being constructed from both sides. Such technological race is turning into competition and confrontation in the diplomatic and security, political and trade arena. Main stage of this intense competition is East Asia. Especially, Korean industries and corporations are at the forefront of the shifting supply chains. To what extent would the supply chains change and what direction would it go in? How much would the existing supply chain be reorganized in East Asia? Also, how would concerned Korean firms respond to the changes in the international environment? This session aims to find solutions for the questions presented above. The session will be an opportunity to evaluate the challenges and opportunities that East Asia and Korea will face. Moreover, this session will also entail interesting discussion on the various strategical choices that related companies and industries can make.
