Biography
BAEK Seung Jin is an elementary school teacher at Gimje Elementary School in Jeonbuk State, South Korea, and holds a Master's degree in Educational Administration from the Graduate School of Education at Jeonbuk National University. His work bridges classroom practice, student assessment, and education policy. Through the partnership program with the UNESCO International Information and Networking Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region (ICHCAP) and the 2025 UNESCO Teacher Professional Development Program at the University of Hong Kong, he presented concept-based inquiry lessons grounded in hanji, Korea's traditional handmade paper. He serves as a lead instructor and member of the national field support group for Social and Emotional Education under the Ministry of Education, leading policy content advisory work and teacher training. He has also been appointed as a Classroom Innovation Leading Teacher and a Provincial Lead Teacher for Global Citizenship Education. His policy and curriculum contributions include developing assessment items for Jeonbuk's elementary student evaluation, co-authoring the regional social studies textbook, and participating in the Jeonbuk Education Policy Colloquium Support Group. In 2020, he received a commendation from the Minister of Education for his contributions to innovative schools.
