Biography

Dr. Marie Ernestine Denise FAJATIN is an educator and community leader based in Cebu, Philippines. With a strong dedication to fostering development of the youth academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. She has spent over 2 decades at Marie Ernestine School, a privateK-12 school where she nurtures young minds and promotes family, school and community partnerships for the development of the youth. She collaborates with organizations to build partnerships locally and internationally that support a holistic educational experience for every child. In addition to her work in education, Marie actively participates in various civic organizations in the community such as in her club Cebu Gloria Maris aimed at improving her community focusing on women and children. She has taken leadership roles in Rotary District 3860n as Assistant Governor, Chair for Cebu Business Month in Cebu Chamber of Commerce, Past Festival Director in Cebu International Film Festival, Past President of the Lapu-lapu City Association of Private Schools, and Vice-President for Pre-school of the Cebu City Private Schools Administrators Association, among others. She is a recent Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Administration graduate at the University of San Carlos, and has earned a Master’s Degree in the same field at the Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines. Marie's approach to education and civic engagement reflects her belief in teamwork and collaboration.
