Biography

President CHO, Jae-Gu is the representative of National Association of Mayors in Korea (NAMK), a legal consultative organisation consists of elected 226 mayors(or heads) of local governments in Republic of Korea. He graduated from the business administration department in Yeongnam University, and obtained a master’s degree in B.A. at the same university graduate school. He has been a member of the Lion’s Club International, and once appointed as the vice president of Region 356-A of the Club. He was elected as a councillor of Daegu Nam-gu District Council, and has successively served as the committee chairman of Civil Welfare and the chairman of the the District Council. Henceforward, he elected as a member of Daegu Metropolitan City Council, where he served as the committee chairman of Urban Construction and Transportation, etc. In 2018, he was elected as the mayor of Daegu Nam-gu District, and currently in the District office. He was elected as the president of NAMK in July 2022, and he has achieved various results related with fields of local autonomy and decentralisation, regional balanced development, for the “Era of Localisation” that people live well anywhere in R.O.K.
