Biography

Sunyoung KOH is a Research Fellow at the Jeju Research Institute and her current research interest is tourism policy. She holds a Ph.D. in tourism geography from Seoul National University in 2006. While serving as the head of the Data R&D Group of the Jeju Tourism Organization and the secretary-general of the ITOP Forum, she experienced in big data-based tourism research and international policy networks. She wrote research papers on local residents' perception of tourism, big data-based tourism consumption and movement patterns, smart tourism and books such as 『Jeju Geography (2023)』. She is currently in charge of establishing 『the 4th Jeju Special Self-Governing Province’s Tourism Promotion Plan』 and conducting policy researches related Jeju.
