Biography

Ekaterina ZAGLADINA is the President of the Board of the Permanent Secretariat of the World Summits of Nobel Peace Laureates since 2006.
She was nominated for this role by late Mikhail Gorbachev, the last leader of the USSR, Nobel Peace Laureate and founder of the Summit. Since then, the Summit has grown substantially at an international level being recognized as one of the most important events for peace-building worldwide.
A practicing advocate, a member of Bar Association, Ms. ZAGLADINA has served on the senior legal teams of various international corporations like Ernst & Young, Volkswagen Financial Services. She holds degrees in International Law, as well as Linguistics and Interpreting.
Her main objectives as the President of the Permanent Secretariat are to:
- Assist Nobel Peace Laureates and Organizations in spreading their messages of peace as they work to inspire civil society and global youth.
- Work with government institutions to achieve peace through dialogue, peace education, and understanding.
- Create local and international activities for youth through the summit, inspired by Nobel Peace Laureates
- Having sailed her own journey through to inner peace, Ekaterina knows that global peace must be built on strong foundations of peace education in schools where peace cultures form and guarantees long term global peace. This is becoming one of the pillars of each Nobel Peace Summit.
Ms. ZAGLADINA lives in Paris and speaks Russian, English, Italian, French and Spanish.
