Biography

Kim Eun-jeong, Director-General of the African Middle Eastern Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs(MOFA), was born in the Republic of Korea. She passed the 32nd High Diplomatic Service Examination in 1998, and has been working as Director-General of the African and Middle Eastern Affairs Bureau since October 2022 after serving as First Secretary at the Korean UN Mission in New York, Counsellor at the Korean Embassy in Kuwait, Director of the Middle East Division1 in MOFA, Counsellor at the Korean Embassy in Italy, and Minister-Counsellor at the Korean Embassy in Thailand. Kim is actively working to promote cooperation between Republic of Korea and Africa and the Middle East including countries in the Maghreb region amid the rapidly changing international situation.
