Biography

Alec Chung received his Ph.D. from the Department of Political Science at the University of Florida in 2018. Previously, he worked as a post-doc at the Hanyang University Peace Institute. Since 2020, he is workings as a Research Fellow at the Jeju Peace Institute. His research interests include peace and conflict in East Asia, political economy of East Asia, China-Japan-ROK relations, and the connection between public opinion and foreign policy in East Asian countries. He is the author of the articles “Effects of Trade Relations on South Korean Views of China,” “Effects of International Trade on East and Southeast Asians’ Views of China” and “The Determinants of China-ROK Relations, 1993-2018: An Empirical Analysis Using Event Data.”
