Subject- Economy / Business
Today’s social challenges, such as the climate crisis, resource depletion, population aging, regional decline, and the weakening of care and human relationships, are no longer issues to be addressed only by the public sector. Companies are also being asked to take on new roles, and the way they understand and solve social challenges is becoming an important factor in determining their sustainability and growth potential.
This session will focus on cases of social challenge-solving companies in Korea and Japan, and examine how companies transform social issues from burdens or costs into new business opportunities and drivers of growth. Through the cases of SuperBin’s circular economy model, YUMEPHOTO’s use of photography and records to restore memory, dignity, and relationships, and Agreen Heart Co., Ltd’s sustainable agriculture and regional revitalization, the session will discuss how technology, citizen participation, field-based practice, and local collaboration can create both social value and market potential.
By doing so, this session aims to explore the future direction of corporate management that goes beyond declarative ESG and leads to real solutions for social issues. It will also suggest possibilities for cooperation between Korean and Japanese companies based on the experiences they have accumulated in their respective fields.
