Jeju, an island of peace, has served as a global forum for dialogue on promoting peace and multilateral exchanges in northeast Asia and solving common problems shared by human beings. Jeju has recently set a good example of bringing regional peace when it has successfully come to terms with its somber 4·3 tragedy. Now it is time to think about the role of Jeju in dealing with the foregone inequality and violence in Asia at the times of imperialism and cold. Discussion will be also made about the potential role of Jeju in leading inter-Korean exchanges and the possibility of attracting Asia’s Court of human rights.
