Recently Jeju and Okinawa became one of the most important islands in Korea, Japan, and throughout East Asia. Many scholars have been paying attention to their historical experiences and unique cultures. Moreover, they are important not only for their military bases but also for the tourism industry.
This session will discuss how the people of these islands think about their future, and search for ways to deepen mutual understanding.
