This session provides an opportunity to talk about peace and the art of Okinawa, Vietnam, Shanghai, Taiwan, and Kwangju, which have painful histories similar to the April 3 Incident on Jeju Island. Against this background, artists of each region such as photographers, curators, critics, and heads of the museum are invited as a moderator and panelists to hold a discussion on collected cases of genocide that found artistic expression and were sublimated enough to become part of an agenda for peace-building. This session is expected to become a venue for public discourse on art proper to Jeju Island, which seeks to enhance its profile as an island of peace and art.
