- Time

The intensifying U.S. and China’s security competition in Northeast Asia has led to increased security tensions in the region, which is also negatively affecting our policy toward the North Korean nuclear issue. South Korea has so far cooperated with the U.S. and China to resolve the North Korean nuclear issue. But China’s security competition with the U.S. and its objection to THAAD deployment in South Korea has significantly undermined our joint denuclearization efforts. Thus, this session aims to explore more effective ways to achieve North Korea’s denuclearization, while taking into account a new security environment in Northeast Asia.
