As a new vision for a more peaceful and sustainable future, Target 4.7 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) emphasizes the importance of appreciation of cultural diversity and culture’s contribution to sustainable development and promotion of global citizenship. As a group that has the greatest stake in the future, youth should assume a significant role in achieving this global goal. In this session, the international and youth leaders including those from Jeju will share their insights and experiences on the role of youth and culture for peace and prosperity and suggest ways for a better future. In addition, diverse cultural activities and messages for the future by and for youth around the world, including those gathering in Jeju for a workshop on Global Citizenship Education (GCED), will be shared in various manners.
