Joe Kaeser, President and Chief Executive Officer of Siemens AG, the global electrical engineering and electronics company based in Germany, said that the manufacturing industry is changing rapidly through digitalization. Compared to the digital revolution in consumer products such as smartphones, apps, and music, he predicted that the manufacturing industry would be the biggest change in the future. He also coined the term “Industry 4.0” to represent a future vision of Germany and South Korea, countries with strong manufacturing industries.
