While the North Korean nuclear issue remains an unresolved task in East Asia, security issues related to terrorism and the proliferation of nuclear arms have become more serious worldwide. To resolve these problems, the global community needs more communication and exchanges based on a multilateral cooperative system instead of the individual security policies of each country. To establish a new leadership to resolve the ever-worsening security issues, this session will examine the interests of countries neighboring the Korean peninsula and explore the means to realize multilateral cooperation. It will also scrutinize the Korean issue in the context of international relations, that is, how the problems affect neighboring countries and the entire world, and explore the possibility of advances in inter-Korean relations and unification through international cooperation and communication, and the possibility of Korea’s contribution to peace in East Asia and the world through an improvement in inter-Korean ties.
