Biography
Lee Seung-hwan was born in Pohang, Gyeongsangbuk-do, in 1958 and completed a Ph.D. in economics at Korea University and a Ph.D. in political science at Kyungnam University.
Since the late 1980s, he has been involved in inter-Korean relations and unification peace movements and is currently co-representative of the Civil Peace Forum. In addition, he is co-chair of the Civil Peace Association and co-chair of the South Korean Committee for the June 15 Joint Declaration and Policy Committee. Many articles are related to inter-Korean relations, including "Convincing Moon Ik-hwan, President Kim Il-sung" (Creative and Criticizing, Tonggwon No. 143, 2009).
