The panelists in this session will discuss how to promote East Asia cooperation for peace from a new perspective on global issues such as the environment, ecology, energy, and cooperation for peace. North Korea’s environmental, energy, and nuclear crises will also be assessed regarding environment and peace affairs, with the possibilities of regional cooperation for environmental protection and peace in East Asia being examined. We hope these discussions will envisage a new roadmap for the peaceful coexistence of the two Koreas, future-oriented cooperation for peace and stability in Northeast Asia, and environmental cooperation in the region. At the same time, we propose a leading role for Jeju Island to that end.
