To resolve the challenges to global security, including the growing threats of terrorism and the North Korean nuclear issue that has troubled Northeast Asia for a long time, diverse channels of communication and exchanges based on multilateral cooperation instead of the individual security policies of each state are required. This session will explore potential ways of fostering multilateral cooperation between Korea and its neighboring countries to develop and realize new leadership in the face of rapidly changing situations in the world. In addition, we will examine how the inter-Korean issue affects other Northeast Asian countries' global society on a larger scale and what kinds of interactions it produces in the context of international relations. We are also set to assess the possibilities of improving inter-Korean relations through enhanced international cooperation, and the possibilities that improved inter-Korean relations may contribute to peace in Northeast Asia and the world.
