In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the 3ยท1 independence movement and commencing inter-Korean exchange, the significance of the independence movement, anti-war movement, peace movement, and unification movement will be revisited from the perspective of women in this session. It is meaningful that distinguished guests gather here in Jeju, where the biggest female resistant group had fought against the governing of Japan, to discuss the role of women in a peace settlement. The light will be shed on various peace-making efforts led by women in East Asia and it will be discussed how women can contribute to peace building.
