In recent years, major stakeholders such as the U.S., Japan, China, Russia, and India have been actively engaged in space development. Korea has also been participating in space development and international cooperation based on its 「3rd Master Plan for Space Development and Promotion」. Considering that space development entails complex and multi-dimensional implications, it is necessary to discuss the issue with a comprehensive perspective beyond technology development to include diplomacy and security. In particular, the Asia-Pacific region, having major stakeholders in play, has ample potential for space cooperation. This session will provide an opportunity to share the current discourses on space issues while discussing national policies as well as means of cooperation in the region.
