Biography
Dr. KIM Dok-Ju is the Director-General and Professor of the Department of European and African Studies of the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) at the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Prior to his current appointment, Dr. Kim was a Visiting Professor at Keio University (June 2014 – December 2014), Visiting Scholar at the Slavic-Eurasian Research Center at Hokkaido University (January 2007 – June 2007), Senior Assistant to the Director of the National Intelligence Service (NIS) (May 2003 - January 2006), Advisor to the Presidential Transition Committee (January 2003 - March 2003), Distinguished Guest Professor of Ewha Womans University (March 2000 - February 2001), and lecturer of the Institute of Practical Oriental Studies at Moscow State University (September 1994 - January 1995). Dr. Kim graduated from Seoul National University (B.A. and M.A. in Law) and received his Ph.D. in Jurisprudence from Moscow State University. Dr. Kim’s research area covers International Law and Russia. He was awarded the Service Merit Medal in 2008.
