The world is currently facing various problems with regard to the sustainability of humanity, such as climate change, food shortage, and energy depletion. Agriculture has become a national strategic industry, however, there are growing concerns about the weakening competitiveness of agriculture in Korea due to FTAs, aging population, and small-scale farming. This phenomenon brings to light the necessity of discovering a new growth engine and creating higher added value for the industry. With the flow of the 4th industrial revolution, it’s necessary to prepare for a unique future of high-tech agriculture with the convergence of the primary, secondary, and tertiary industries and build a newly value-added infrastructure. In this session, we are going to invite relevant experts to share their opinions on the strategy of differentiation and competitiveness for the future of agriculture in the nation.
