
Biography
Kim Seong-soo was born in Korea in 1953. He received a Ph.D. in Economics from Chung-Ang University Graduate School. The title of the doctoral dissertation is 'The effect of eco-friendly management on marketing of retail business.' He served as a department store manager for Jinro Group. After his retirement in 1997, he has conducted management consulting for the distribution industry, the franchise industry, and the agriculture industry.
In May 2015, he was president of the 'Association of Korea Agri Food Sector Industry(KASI)', the corporation of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs(MAFRA). As KASI President, he is actively engaged in activities for the development of Korean agriculture and the textile industry. Currently, he is a professor at the School of Business at Caroline University.
He is an active adviser to the 'Korea Distribution Science Association (KODISA)', a member of the 'Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business', a member of the 'Korea Franchise Association', and the sextic Industry Leader of the MAFRA. He is a field specialist in distribution and agriculture who combines theoretical and practical skills based on field practice. It also has outstanding talents and appeal to the nation's institutions and organizations. Major books and research include "Flow of Korean Distribution Industry" (2012), "Research on the Forms of Department Store Trading" (2013), and "Franchise Ownership and Merchant Rating Scale" (2004).
