Whether they get into a university or not, find jobs, or are unemployed, Korea’s young generation is feeling lost. Young people feel suffocated by the fact that even after a lifetime of tireless work, they cannot escape the realities of social hierarchy and a sense of futility. According to a recent survey, young people in their 20s had the highest rate of having experienced symptoms of depression, surpassing people in their 50s. During this time of sweeping change, are the voices of the younger generation being heard? The JoongAng Ilbo will present the third installment of its Jeju Forum series focusing on the younger generation with a session titled ‘Celebration of Youth.’ This talk show format session will root for the youth of today through the stories of individuals who have overcome various biases and limits to succeed in their special ways.
