A desirable future in the East Asian region requires the establishment of a new order of coexistence and cooperation. And this could be possible through the birth of new citizens with global citizenship. The notion of global citizenship can promote the recognition of the significance of coexistence and cooperation beyond particular national interests. In this vein, university education has to try to make future generations recognize the importance of global understanding and responsibility. This session will explore the directions and tasks of citizenship education at universities in the age of globalization.
