Excellencies, Distinguished participants,


I am pleased to send my warm greetings as you gather for the 21st Jeju Forum for Peace and Prosperity.

You have come together around the theme of "Reinventing Cooperation in a Fragmented World". We meet at a deeply challenging moment for humanity. Geopolitical tensions are rising. Conflicts are causing immense suffering, displacing communities and reversing years of development progress.

Divisions are deepening and trust is eroding. The international order that once helped bring nations together around shared norms and common goals is under serious strain. Multilateralism - the very idea that we can solve global problems together - is under threat.

To my mind, reinventing cooperation ultimately means renewing our commitment to common values and to the Charter of the United Nations. It means building a multilateralism fit for today's realities more networked, more inclusive, more representative. It also means listening beyond the usual rooms of power as you are doing in Jeju.

To women and young people building peace in their communities, to countries whose voices are often overlooked, and to those on the frontlines of climate chaos, poverty and conflict who know that the consequences of fragmentation are never abstract. They are painfully real.

The Pact for the Future - agreed by the Member States of the United Nations helps chart the course forward. Toward stronger multilateral institutions, reformed global governance, and deeper solidarity between nations and generations. I know you will have many stimulating discussions around these essential ideas over the coming days.

I wish you well and let's keep working together to strengthen cooperation, renew trust, and advance peace and prosperity for all.
