Biography

TAN Sue-Ern is Head of the International Energy Agency, Regional Cooperation Centre, the IEA’s first-ever office outside its Paris headquarters. She leads the Centre’s mission to work with Southeast Asian governments in addressing their energy challenges including strengthening energy security.

Sue-Ern brings deep international experience across the public and private sectors. She held Senior Climate and Energy Roles at Shell, served as a Ministerial Adviser on energy in the Australian Government, was Deputy CEO at a Minerals Industry Association, and practiced as a Lawyer. Sue-Ern holds a Degree from the University of New South Wales and is an Eisenhower Fellow.
