Biography
CHUNG Yong Sang (b. 1955) currently serves as the Secretary General of the Northeast Asian History Foundation. Previously, he was a Professor of Law at Dongguk University. Throughout his distinguished career, he has held numerous prestigious positions, including President of the Korea Law Professors Association. He has also contributed significantly to the judicial and legal systems as a member of the official Candidate Recommendation Committees for Supreme Court Justices, the Prosecutor General, and Constitutional Court Justices. Furthermore, he served as a Standing Committee Member of the Democratic and Peaceful Unification Advisory Council. An accomplished scholar, his major research publications include "The company form stipulated by the company law in the ASEAN countries" (2015) and "An Analysist to prevent the pursuit of private interests by the Controlling Shareholder’s Usurpation of Corporate Opportynity" (2019). In recognition of his outstanding contributions to education and public service, he was honored with the Order of Service Merit “Yellow Stripes” in 2020 and the Order of Service Merit “Red Stripes” in 2007 by the government of the Republic of Korea.
