Biography

YOUN Dam-rin is an Associate Research Fellow at the Korea Institute for Defense Analyses. He received his Ph.D. in International Politics from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO). He has previously served as a research professor at the Korea University Center for Russian and CIS Studies and as Head of International Exchange at the Secretariat of the Korea–Russia Dialogue (KRD). His main research interests include international politics, international security, trilateral cooperation among South Korea, North Korea, and Russia, and Russian politics—particularly political elites. His representative publications include: “A Study on the Relationship Between Russian Elites and National Security Strategy through a Rational Policy Decision-Making Model” (2025), “The Impact of Strengthened Russia-North Korea Relations on International Politic” (2025), “Russia's Policy toward the Korean Peninsula and North Korea–Russia Relations under the Neo-Imperial Order” (2025), “A Study of Korea-Russia Relations under the Neo-Imperial Order through a Dynamic Model of International Relations Analysis: Focusing on the Post-Ukraine War Period” (2025), and『A Comparative Study on Elite Types and Authoritarianism Formed During the Putin Era』(2024),『The Russian Elite's Response to NATO Expansion』(2025).
