Biography

H.E. GOMBOJAV Zandanshatar, the 34th Prime Minister of Mongolia, has built a distinguished career in public service, finance, and democratic governance spanning over three decades.

He holds a B.Sc. in Finance and Economics from the State University of Natural Resources and Law, and a Master’s Degree in Economics. He was a Visiting Scholar at Stanford University’s Center on Democracy, Development, and the Rule of Law (2013–2015), where he deepened his engagement with deliberative democracy and institutional reforms.

H.E. GOMBOJAV Zandanshatar was elected four times to the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia in 2004, 2008, 2016, and 2020. He held several key national leadership roles, including Minister of Foreign Affairs (2009–2012), Secretary General of the MPP (2012–2013), and Minister and Chief Cabinet Secretary of the Government of Mongolia (2017–2019). H.E. Zandanshatar served two-terms as Chairman of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia (2019-2020 and 2020-2024). He was instrumental in increasing transparency, public engagement, strengthening parliamentary check and balance and the constitutional amendments. He served as the Chief of Staff to the Office of the President of Mongolia in 2025 and served as the 34th Prime Minister of Mongolia.
