동북아 지정학의 미래 : 현안과 담론

The tensions have been growing across Northeast Asia including the Korean peninsula where a fierce com-petition among the super powers like the US, China, Russia and Japan is taking place. Along with the North Korea’s nuclear development and the international society’s pressure and sanctions toward it, an apparent new cold war system seems to be contributing to in¬tensifying the geopolitical tensions in Northeast Asia. There are countless obstacles in this region, like the America-First policy initiated by the new US admin-istration, the deteriorated Korea-China relation due to the deployment of THAAD, the North Korea nuclear issue, the remained historical issues among Korea, China and Japan, and the maritime disputes between China and Japan. With all these problems here, this session explores how Northeast Asia makes its way out of its geopolitical traps to pioneer a new future.
한반도를 위시해 미국, 중국, 러시아, 일본 등 초강대국들의 경쟁 무대가 되고 있는 동북아 지역은 현 재 그 어느 때보다 긴장이 고조되어 있다. 북한의 핵 개발과 국제사회의 고강도 대북 제재 및 압박, 이에 따른 역내 신 냉전체제 구도가 가시화되면서 동북아 지정학적 긴장 상태가 지속되고 있는 것이다. 미국 트럼프 행정부의 자국 우선 정책, 사드 배치로 악화 된 한중관계, 출구를 알 수 없는 북핵 문제, 한중일 역사 문제, 중일 간 해양 분쟁 등 무수히 많은 장애 물들이 눈앞에 놓여 있는 상황에서 동북아가 지정 학의 덫에서 벗어나 새로운 미래를 개척할 수 있는 길을 모색해 본다.
