Museums have for a long time served a non-institutionalized educational role in various spheres. There are over 80 museums on Jeju Island, including the Aerospace Museum currently under construction. Yet the meaning and roles of these museums still require more contemplation. Therefore, through an in-depth discussion on the educational role and value of museums, we hope to propose development direction and objectives for the 21st century not only for museums on Jeju Island but for those all over the nation.
박물관은 오랜 기간 동안 비제도권에서 여러 분야에 걸친 교육적 역할을 담당해 왔습니다. 제주도 내에는 현재 건립중인 항공우주박물관을 비롯하여 80개 이상의 박물관이 존재하지만, 그 의미와 역할에 대한 고찰은 부족한 실정입니다.
이에, 박물관이 갖는 교육적 역할과 가치에 대한 심도 깊은 논의를 통하여 제주도뿐만 아니라 전국 박물관의 21세기 발전방향과 지향점을 제시하고자 합니다.
