With an international sanction imposed on North Korea and the unpredicted spread of COVID-19, many internal and external changes have been observed in the North. To better understand North Korea, it is necessary to pay attention to its 'selection' and 'concentration' to overcome the current situation. This session is designed to discuss pending issues of North Korea including the nukes, international sanctions, the pandemic, and food security. Speakers will present the nuclear issue and its facts and misunderstandings, and sanctions with implications for humanitarian consequences. This session will examine the food and energy situation and review the situation of COVID-19 and public health policy in North Korea.
