Biography

, David Ruch is United’s senior company representative responsible for all aspects of the airline’s operation in Korea. He has worked in Asia for 37 years, holding numerous leadership positions in Korea's business community over the past 30 years. He currently sits on the Board of the American Chamber of Commerce as Vice Chairman and is a 2 term past Chairman. During his term as Chairman, he led AMCHAM’s initiatives leading to the ratification of the KORUS Free Trade Agreement. He is the standing Co-Chair of AMCHAM’s Travel & Transportation Committee where he has been active in AMCHAM’s Washington lobbying initiatives to secure Korea’s Visa Waiver status and Global Entry participation.

Aside from his AMCHAM roles, he serves as the Chairman of the Korea Visit USA Committee and Chairman of Korea’s Board of Airline Representatives. He is a recipient of the Ministerial Achievement Award from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and was an Asia/Pacific delegate to the White House Conference on Tourism. He is one of only three foreigners to have served on the Korean Government’s Presidential Council for National Competitiveness, chaired by the President of the Republic of Korea, representing US Business interests to Korean government policy makers. He is currently active in both U.S. and Korean industry affairs and policy.
