Biography

Prof. Sang-ki CHUNG had been a career diplomat for long time. He had worked in the Korean Mission in Singapore, China, Sri Lanka, Japan, San Francisco (Consul-General), Taipei (Representative). At home, he had worked as an Ambassador for Northeast Asian Cooperation. He also had worked as Director of Northeast Asia Division 2, Director-General of Asia and Pacific Affairs Bureau of MOFA, Deputy Secretary of Protocol to the President of ROK, President of the National Institute for the International Education (Ministry of Education). After retirement, he had worked as a professor & Director of Center for Chinese Studies, Korea National Diplomatic Academy. Currently he is a “distinguished professor” of Konkuk University and Jeon-ju University. He has participated in the 1st inter-Korea Summit in 2000, and has been an International Visitor Fellow invited by the US State Department. He speaks fluent Chinese and Japanese.

정상기(丁相基) 교수는 직업외교관 출신의 중국전문가이다. 그는 싱가포르, 중국, 스리랑카, 일본주재 한국대사관에서 근무하였으며 주샌프란시스코 총영사, 주타이뻬이 한국대표, 외교부 동북아 협력대사를 역임하였다. 또한 외교부 아시아태평양국장, 청와대 행정관, 국립국제교육원장을 역임하였고, 퇴직 후에는 국립외교원 외교안보연구소 중국연구센터 센터 소장을 역임하였다. 그는 건국대학교 정치외교학과(학사), 중국문화대학 대륙문제연구소(석사)를 거쳐 건국대학교에서 정치학 박사학위를 받았다. 그는 제1차 남북정상회담에 참석하였으며, 미 국무성 초청으로 국제방문학자 프로그램에 참여하였다. 중국어와 일본어가 가능하다.
