President UENG Jinn-pyng is the current President of the National Penghu University of Science and Technology (NPU). His specialization lies in fish neurophysiology, ecology, and shellfish reproduction. He majored in fisheries science and obtained his B.S. from the National Taiwan Ocean University. He went on to get his M.S. and Ph.D. in Environmental Biology and Fisheries Science at the same university. He has served as the Dean of the College of Marine Resources and Engineering, the Director of Cage Culture Industry Technology Research and Development Center, as well as the Dean of Student Affairs, among other distinguished positions in NPU.
