Biography
Nam Sang-gu, chairman of the Korea-Japan Relations Institute of the Northeast Asian History Foundation, majored in Japanese contemporary history and studies memories of Japanese invasion and colonial rule, and historical perception between Korea and Japan, such as Yasukuni Shrine, Japanese military comfort women, and Japanese textbooks. He is the author of Ask Yasukuni Shrine: Lawsuits to Demand the Removal of Those Forcibly Contained in Yasukuni Shrine (co-authored, 2014) and Japanese Politics’ Structural Changes and Trend toward Conservatism: The Political Symbol and the Life-world Reality (co-authored, 2017).
