Biography
Ha Jong-moon majored in Japanese modern and contemporary history and serves as a professor of the Japanese Studies Department at Hanshin University. He studies Japan’s wartime labor policies, the theme that he has delved into since his doctoral thesis, while presenting his research results on pending issues regarding the relationship between Korea and Japan, such as Japan’s comfort women and textbooks. His major books include Claim Responsibility for the Japanese Military Comfort Women (2001), History That Opens the Future (co-authored, 2005), East Asian Modern History Jointly Written by Korea, China, and Japan (vol. 1 and 2, co-authored, 2012), Travel to Japanese History, and Politics and Culture of East Asia (co-authored, 2016).
