Born in Korea, Im joined the Chosun Ilbo in 2000 and worked as a reporter for Washington correspondents, the National Assembly, the Foreign Ministry, and the Prime Minister's Office. Im is currently the head of the Foreign Affairs and Security Department, in charge of conducting a series of security issues surrounding the Korean Peninsula.
