Director Yang Gi-Cheol, born in 1968 in Aewol-eup, Jeju, currently serves as the Director of Tourism at the Jeju Special Self-Governing Provincial Government, overseeing the island’s tourism affairs. He majored in law at Hanyang University and has been dedicated to public service for Jeju since he was appointed a local administrative officer in 2006. In 2012, he received a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Colorado State University in the United States. After his promotion to Senior Executive Officer, he served as Director of the International Trade Division in 2015 and as Director of the Secretariat of the Audit Committee in 2017. Since January of this year, he has been leading various initiatives as Director of Tourism, striving for the advancement of both Jeju’s tourism industry and its broader society.
