Biography

YU Hong-jun studied at Northeast Normal University for a BA and MA and at Renmin University of China for Doctor of Laws. He worked as a senior visiting scholar at Russia’s Dun Rostov University in the 1990s. He works as an Adjunct Professor of Renmin University of China, Jilin University, East China Normal University, Ji’nan University, Guangxi University, and China University of Petroleum, Beijing. He is also a Doctoral Tutor of Renmin University of China and China University of Petroleum, Beijing.

Yu Hongjun is an expert on international issues who has long been the main focus of the international communist movement and world socialism. At present, he mainly focuses on the study of modern international relations, the politics of world political parties, and the diplomacy of contemporary China.

Yu Hongjun is also a former professional diplomat. He used to be vice minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee and president of China Center for Contemporary World Studies (CCCWS). He served as First Secretary of the Chinese Embassy in Kazakhstan and as Chinese Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Uzbekistan. He is Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Peace and Disarmament (CPAPD), a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the CPPCC National Committee. He is also appointed as Advisor to the International Financial Forum, the Center for World Socialism of China Academy of Social Sciences, and the National Center for Strategic Studies of China National School of Administration.
