Biography
GO Je-ryang was born in Jeju, Korea, in 1966. She graduated from Jeju Girls’ Middle and High School and studied Environmental Science and Geography Education at Jeju National University. For many years, she has worked in the fields of environmental conservation and sustainable use based on community participation. She is currently engaged in civic initiatives and community collaboration focused on ecotourism and environmental education.
Since 2010, she has worked with residents of Seonheul 1-ri to conserve Dongbaekdongsan, a Ramsar Wetland, through ecological monitoring, environmental education, and the development of ecotourism programs. She has also provided consulting and capacity-building support for ecotourism villages within the Jeju Biosphere Reserve, including Pyeongdae-ri, Harye-ri, Hogeun-dong, and Jeoji-ri. She currently serves as a Member of the Jeju Ramsar Wetland City Advisory Committee and as President of the Jeju Ecotourism Association.
