Biography

HWANG Soo Hwan is currently a Professor in the Department of Political Science and Diplomacy at Jeju National University. He has served as a Research Fellow at the Korea Institute for Unification Studies (KINU) and as Team Leader of the Inter-Korean Exchange and Cooperation Center at the Gyeongnam Research Institute, and currently serves as a Policy Advisor to the Ministry of Unification. He earned his Ph.D. in Political Science from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS). His primary research areas include peace studies, the peace regime on the Korean Peninsula, and Inter-Korean relations. His major publications include “Pathways to a Peace Regime on the Korean Peninsula According to Types of Peace Agreements” (2017), “The Direction of Peace on the Korean Peninsula from a Peace Studies Perspective” (2019), “An Evaluation of Inter-Korean Relations Applying Peacebuilding Theory” (2021), and Introduction to Peace Studies (2022).
